Gastric Sleeve Ginger

I am extremely grateful for the journey I have been on...

I am extremely grateful for the journey I have been on. On December 16, 2010 I began this journey with Dr. Basa. After that appointment I had made the decision that I was going to for sure have gastric bypass surgery. On April 11, 2011 I was excitedly nervous but extremely ready! From that moment on I have not looked back!

I’m a mammographer, so I see my patients on a yearly basis. Working in the public, I am always asked questions and hear comments. I have never hidden the surgery from any one; I feel it helped hold me accountable! The more people looking at me, the harder I wanted to work for success! The ones that ask about the surgery are usually interested in it for themselves. I’m always willing to give advice but my first words are “it doesn’t do it on its own; you have to work at it.” It is amazing the comments that I get each year. Patients that have come to me for years don’t recognize me and the ones that do are simply amazed, as am I!

On May 11, 2015 I began a different path to this journey, being the surgeries for skin removal. Although I felt great with my weight loss I was still wearing a girdle every day for every occasion, even swimming. I am so thankful and happy with my results. Dr. Holzman was amazing!

I would not change anything and would do it all again! It has helped me to change my life in so many positive ways. I know that it ultimately took me, my focus and work but I owe a huge thank you to Dr. Basa and Dr. Holzman and their staff for their desire, dedication and education to help me begin and end a much needed and appreciated transformation that has affected my entire being!
