Weight loss surgery is an enormous and life-changing undertaking. Individuals who opt to undergo Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or gastric sleeve surgery have a personal responsibility to maintain healthy habits for the rest of their lives. Emotional support is a huge component to successfully losing weight, maintaining weight loss, and enjoying a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Our Cedar Park surgeons, Dr. Alan Abando and Dr. Nicole Basa, help shoulder this responsibility with our patients by providing a local and comprehensive weight loss surgery support program. Bariatric support groups, counseling services, and seminars are available in the Austin area throughout the entire calendar year to assist patients who have embarked upon their weight loss journeys. Please contact Cedar Park Surgeons to learn more about the bariatric support groups and services that we offer.
Since individuals must make radical lifestyle changes after bariatric surgery, it's helpful to have a place to share weight loss questions, concerns, and experiences with other patients from Austin, Cedar Park, and nearby communities. Our team of psychologists and dieticians will facilitate these confidential support groups and answer questions.
One-on-one counseling and coaching sessions are another valuable resource that Cedar Park Surgeons, PA offer to post-bariatric surgery patients. Counselors have a comprehensive set of tools to help patients cope with the physical and emotional changes they are likely to experience after surgery.
Cedar Park Surgeons, PA hosts seminars and support groups for post-bariatric surgery patients. Presenters cover a wide range of topics, including diet, exercise habits, relationships, and common challenges during this adjustment period.
