Patients who are hesitant about the surgical treatment of obesity may consider less-invasive alternatives. Following a strict diet and exercise routine, along with behavior modification, can produce long-term results similar to those attainable through Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or gastric sleeve surgery. A doctor-managed weight loss program is an effective way to set goals, develop a comprehensive plan to meet these goals, receive the necessary tools to follow the plan, and measure progress under the direction of a medical professional. Learn more about our doctor-managed weight loss program, called The Center for Medical Weight Loss, and contact the Austin-area practice of Cedar Park Surgeons, PA for more information about alternatives to weight loss surgery.

The Center for Medical Weight Loss (CMWL) is a national program that designs customized, comprehensive weight loss plans that are supervised by physicians trained in bariatric medicine. CMWL is available at 60 practices in 10 states. Our practice offers the CMWL program; our Cedar Park bariatric surgeons are certified by the program's founder, Dr. Michael Kaplan. By utilizing non-surgical weight loss tools such as diet plans, lifestyle coaching, and appetite management, CMWL doctors tailor programs to meet patients' individual weight loss goals. The program includes regular follow-up visits to monitor the patient's progress and address any obstacles that may crop up during the weight loss process.
Patients who enroll in the CMWL program will enjoy the following perks:
